Ascoli Piceno

Ascoli Piceno is part of the Rete Nazionale Città dei Motori (National Motor Cities Network) as the site of the Paolino Teodori race. Inaugurated in 1962 with the “Ascoli - S. Marco” time trial, the race became immediately valid for the Italian Cup. If over time the technical validity of the race remained the same, in 1987 the route was modified, leaving the town of Ascoli for safety reasons. Today, the race is still run, starting at Piagge, with Colle S. Giacomo as the finish line. It is a race that is appreciated by both drivers and technicians but, most of all, by 15-20 thousand spectators per year, who, as per tradition, stand along the route to watch it.
